We’ve compiled a panel of hiring managers for small solo shops\, in-house design teams\, and agencies to offer up what they look for in candidates and their portfolios. They’ll also provide insight into what you should be looking for when you apply and interview. Got a burning question for our experts? Space is limited so make sure to RSVP. \nMEET THE PANELISTS: \nBob Case \nChief Creative Officer\, LAVIDGE \nBob Case has worn many hats at local ad agency\, LAVIDGE\, currently as its Chief Creative Officer. Named the first “Creative Director of the Year” by the Phoenix Ad Club\, Case has been with LAVIDGE since 2000 and served as the creative team’s hiring manager for a large number of them. Bob’s “nights & weekends” obsession with illustration drives his many passion projects\, from solo masterpieces to designer collaborations\, from playing cards to political statements. \n \nJen Flaks  \nFounder & Creative Director\, Flaks Studio  \nAs the founder of Flaks Studio\, Jen is passionate about graphic design and using it to tell stories that illuminate what her clients do and how it benefits their audience. She provides a rare blend of right and left brain thinking to build a brand\, delivering solutions that are both inspired and practical. A lifelong learner\, Jen’s boundless curiosity has led to diverse interests and work in film\, sports\, finance and philanthropy. \n \nJohn Huber \nAssociate Director\, Digital Product Design\, Banner Health \nOver 2 decades into his career\, John Huber\, the Associate Director of Digital Product Design at Banner Health\, is a dynamic design leader renowned for championing exceptional user and patient experiences. With a wealth of experience\, including Neilson Norman Award-winning design and a talent for fostering outstanding team culture\, John excels in recruiting top design talent\, establishing design systems\, and driving digital strategies for enterprise solutions. In his early career\, John owned a thriving creative studio\, specializing in brand and packaging design and collaborated with local creative agencies like Moses Inc. and AKOS. \n \nLindsay Kinkade \nManaging Director\, Creative Strategy\, Enterprise Brand Strategy and Management\, Arizona State University \nLindsay Kinkade develops creative brand strategy and leads a high performing design\, content\, video\, photography and editorial team for ASU Enterprise Brand Strategy and Management. Using agile creative processes and cloud-based systems\, she and the team develop more creative year over year with the same resources\, combining journalism and creativity into brand stories for all channels. She collaborates with dozens of units across ASU\, student designers and outside agencies. \n \nWill Mejia \nVice President\, Experience\, Evoke Melt \nOver the past 20+ years\, Will has played pivotal roles in the success stories of numerous organizations and has elevated brands and customer experiences to new heights. His dedication to leadership has earned him a key role as Vice President of Experience at Evoke Melt and is orchestrating customer-centric strategies by leading a team of multidisciplinary designers serving the healthcare industry. \n \n.﻿..and our Moderator: \nAnika Bausom \nSenior UX Designer and Researcher\, Research Collective \nAnika is a Senior UX Designer and Researcher. She is passionate about helping those who help others\, and specializes in product design for healthcare\, education\, and social impact.
