How did you get started with AIGA Arizona?
I got my start with AIGA more than 20 years ago as an undergraduate at TCU in Fort Worth, Texas.
What do you like most about AIGA Arizona?
As an independent designer, I love that AIGA provides a place for me to find community and camaraderie amongst creative people who understand in PRACTICAL terms, the professional and creative challenges involved in communication design. Providing the baseline connections through AIGA programming is integral in bringing creative people together. As well as the people involved in this organization, whom share my love of the profession.
What design event do you look forward to every year?
Design week! Owning and operating a small business is more than a full time job. I am regularly pulled in many directions, so design week provides me a shot of creativity I can look forward to, with a time investment I can commit to. I get to catch up with friends, keep up with those important social ties and hear great speakers talk about process and creative vision. 🙂
What is the superpower you wish you had?
Mind reading – so I know straight-away what the client is looking for.

Tell us about your favorite event or moment with AIGA Arizona.
Giving a keynote talk at Phoenix design week in 2018. It was a highlight to share my personal journey, challenges and my passion to so many friends and colleagues. The talk was a culmination of many roads and I was so thankful that Kyle Larkin asked me to share my story.
